International Lake Ontario - St. Lawrence River Study Public Interest Advisory Group to hold a public meeting to exchange information on water levels

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - On October 30th, 2002, the Public Interest Advisory Group (PIAG), a volunteer group appointed by the International Joint Commission to ensure effective communication between the public and the International Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Study team, will be hosting a public meeting to further the dialogue on the impacts of water level fluctuations with the public.

The major interests and the relevant public are involved directly in the studies via public meetings in order to ensure that all affected parties are able to express their concerns and be part of the progress to evaluate options for regulating outflows from Lake Ontario through the St. Lawrence River. The continuous involvement of all interests throughout the criteria review process is critical to the success of the study.
