The Lake Ontario – St. Lawrence Study provides new information management tools to promote access to a wide array of information for researchers, managers and interested individuals within the public. As the study proceeds, these tools will be continuously improved.

Information Management System – This system provides access to all Study information resources via simple and advanced search functions. Information resources include documents, datasets, model results and graphic products.

Web Mapping Tool – This tool provides users with the ability to create customized maps of their areas of interest and search for specific types of information. The tool provides access to geographically referenced information, including details about each data sets (metadata). This tool works within the browser on your computer; no special software is needed. Instructions on its use are provided within. New data are continuously being added as they become available.

Shared Vision Model – This tool is currently under development by the Plan Formulation and Evaluation Group; access to this tool will be provided here in the future.

Document Management System – This system is currently under development. In the meantime, please see the Documentation section of these pages.

FTP Site – Study data holdings, including instructions and file structure. Password required; study participants only. Special software may be required if your browser does not support ftp protocol. Please be aware that most of these datasets and documents are very large and require substantial time to download with dial-up connections. Also, please be aware that some of this information is restricted for access, use or duplication due to licensing provisions protecting intellectual property rights. If you need password access, please contact either technical contact below.
